Board Meeting of The Green Climate Fund

Nusa Dua, Bali, 18 - 21 February 2014

The meeting was initiated by The Green Climate Fund (GCF) in cooperation with the Fiscal Policy of the Ministry of Finance Republic of Indonesia. GCF is a fund within the framework of the UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change), founded as a mechanism to transfer money from the developed to the developing world, in order to assist the developing countries in adaptation and mitigation practices to counter climate change. The main issue discussed during the four-day Board Meeting was 'Guiding framework and procedures for accrediting national, regional and international implementing entities and intermediates, including the Fund's fiduciary principles and standards and environmental and social safeguards.’ Held at Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center, the Board Meeting was attended by 300 delegates from 39 countries and 135 international finance institutions.
