INTERNATIONAL SOCIAL AND BEHAVIOR CHANGE COMMUNICATION SUMMIT

Nusa Dua, Bali, 16-20 April 2018

The 2018 SBCC Summit was hosted by a consortium of international and local partners including the Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs, The Communication Initiative, Soul City Institute, UNICEF and BBC Media Action. Participants came from more than 429 different organizations who attended more than 220 sessions. The declaration, that emerged at the end of this event representing the key results from the Summit, was divided into two primary parts. The first part was the pillars of the SBCC community and a call for the further inclusion of communication in development. The second part has declared the suggestions of how governments, donors, civil society organizations, the private sector and other stakeholders shall embrace SBCC. This event is held every two years, and this one was held after the Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in 2016. The next SBCC Summit is expected to convene in 2020.
